The New York Giants just brought in veteran QB Jameis Winston on a two-year deal, but that doesn’t mean they’re done shopping for quarterbacks. According to reports, the Giants are still keeping an eye on Russell Wilson, even after his short stint with the Steelers.
While Aaron Rodgers is technically still an option, Wilson seems to be the real target. The Giants signed Winston mainly as a backup, but they’re reportedly looking for a solid veteran starter—unlike teams like the Browns or Vikings, who seem content with their current setups.
Wilson, who had an up-and-down 2024 season in Pittsburgh, became a free agent after the Steelers decided not to renew his contract. There’s still a chance he could return to Pittsburgh if other options (like Rodgers) don’t work out, but the team might also look for a new QB in the draft.
Wilson recently visited the Giants before they signed Winston, and New York had shown interest in him last offseason before he landed in Pittsburgh. With the Giants still searching for a veteran presence under center, Wilson could very well be their next big move.
