The New York Giants are looking to pick a quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft, and it seems like they’ll go for one in the second round (34th overall). With veteran quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston already signed, the pressure to grab a top QB early has eased. So, who could they pick on Day 2?
Jalen Milroe (Alabama):
Milroe is one of the most athletic quarterbacks in the draft, showing off both his arm and legs. Last season, he threw for 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, plus rushed for 726 yards and 20 touchdowns. He has a great deep ball but needs to work on his footwork and short-pass accuracy. If the Giants pick him, it would be ideal for him to learn behind Wilson for a year, then compete for the starting job in 2026.
Tyler Shough (Louisville):
Shough’s draft stock went up after a solid NFL Combine showing. He’s got plenty of experience, having played at Oregon, Texas Tech, and Louisville. Last year, he threw for 3,195 yards, 23 touchdowns, and only 6 interceptions. He’s not super mobile, and some teams worry about his age (he turns 26 in September), but his experience could be a big plus for the Giants.
Jaxson Dart (Ole Miss):
Dart could be a bit of a stretch here since some think the Pittsburgh Steelers might grab him at 21, but if he’s available at 34, the Giants would be crazy to pass him up. Dart’s stats improved every year, and in 2024, he threw for 4,279 yards, 29 touchdowns, and just 6 interceptions, while also rushing for 495 yards and 4 touchdowns. His performance at Ole Miss is reminiscent of Eli Manning, another former Ole Miss QB who did well with the Giants.
If the Giants want to find their next big quarterback, these three could be their future star.
