Amani Toomer, a former Giants wide receiver, recently shared his thoughts on the team’s playoff chances. On ESPN’s “This Is Football” podcast, Toomer said that while the Giants have some solid pieces, the overall team still looks disjointed. He compared the team’s performance to the ups and downs of the stock market, where one area improves while another drops. Toomer pointed out that the defense, especially the defensive line, lacks depth and has struggled with injuries, and that the offense is also lacking in big-play ability.
He also mentioned that the offensive line had improved last season, but the quarterback play didn’t see much progress. Toomer emphasized that for the Giants to truly compete, everything needs to come together—both in terms of depth and cohesion. He also noted that wide receiver Malik Nabers needs more support to become a more efficient, top-tier player in the league. Toomer said the team’s draft picks, especially in the later rounds, will be key to the Giants’ success going forward.
