Giants Lose Pass Rusher as Eagles Swoop In

The Philadelphia Eagles have once again raided their NFC East rivals, signing pass rusher Azeez Ojulari away from the New York Giants. The one-year deal was announced Monday, adding to the growing list of former Giants making their way to Philly.

Ojulari joins Patrick Johnson and Adoree’ Jackson as ex-Giants who have landed with the Eagles this offseason. And of course, there was last year’s headline-making move when Saquon Barkley swapped blue for green.

For the Eagles, this is a low-risk signing with solid upside. They needed depth on the defensive line after Josh Sweat and Milton Williams left for new teams, and Ojulari brings experience without major expectations.

The former second-round pick had a promising rookie year in 2021, racking up eight sacks and 49 tackles, but injuries slowed his progress. He played in just 11 games last season, starting five, but still managed to record six sacks. The Giants, who recently traded for Brian Burns, didn’t see enough value in keeping him around.

If Ojulari stays healthy, he could provide Philly with a solid rotational edge rusher. The Giants, meanwhile, continue reshaping their defense, hoping new faces will help turn things around in 2025.

Stay tuned—because in this division, the drama never stops.
