Russell Wilson Hits the Field with New Giants Teammates
When the New York Giants signed Russell Wilson to a one-year deal, they weren’t just picking up a quarterback they were bringing in a leader, a mentor, and someone ready to lift the whole team. Wilson’s made it clear: he’s here to start, guide the younger guys, and handle the spotlight in one of football’s toughest cities.
Not wasting any time, Wilson linked up with some of his new teammates down at Georgia Tech for workouts. He even posted a shot on Instagram with receivers Wan’Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton, plus tight end Theo Johnson, captioning it “Good few days with the boyzzz.”
Wilson’s pumped about the fresh start. In his first press conference, he said he’s eager to dive in. “We’re excited to start working in a couple weeks. The guys are ready too I’ve already talked to Malik, Theo, Darius, Wan’Dale, Tracy… we’re all itching to get some throws in,” he shared.
Wilson’s deal is worth $10.5 million for the year, with bonuses that could push it up to $21 million. While a rookie QB might join the team later, this is Wilson’s job to lose. He’s here to win, plain and simple. His focus? Get to work now and turn those April workouts into September wins.
“I just want to bring it every day for myself and for this team,” Wilson said. “We’ll have fun, push each other, and get better together.”
