The Giants may be eyeing Shedeur Sanders in the upcoming NFL Draft, but word is… the feeling might not be mutual.
ESPN’s Louis Riddick dropped a little tea on First Take, saying Shedeur’s camp prefers he doesn’t get picked in the top 3 — where the Titans, Browns, and Giants currently sit. According to Riddick, Sanders wants a more collaborative environment, not a “fall in line” type of situation. “He’s earned that right,” Riddick added.
He even named some teams Shedeur would like — think Saints, Steelers, or Raiders — franchises that might be better fits both culturally and schematically.
But Shedeur himself clapped back a little Thursday, saying, “I have never spoken to Louis Riddick in my life. I don’t know what he’s talking about.”
Still, there’s smoke. And with Daniel Jones out of the picture (cut after another rough season), and Russell Wilson + Jameis Winston just stopgaps, the Giants are clearly on the hunt for a franchise QB. Just maybe not this one.
Even Deion Sanders — aka “PrimeTime” and Shedeur’s dad — reportedly wouldn’t mind if his son slipped a little in the draft if it meant landing somewhere that’s a better long-term fit.
Bottom line: Don’t be surprised if Shedeur’s name isn’t called early — and it might be exactly what his team wants.
