Giants’ QB Dilemma: Ian Rapoport Adds More Fuel to the Fire

The NY Giants have the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and their quarterback situation is still a mess. The problem? There are really only two top-tier QBs in this class, and if the Titans and Browns take them with the first two picks, the Giants will be stuck choosing between reaching for Jaxson Dart (who isn’t really worth it at No. 3) or trading down.

But here’s the twist: with Cooper Rush leaving Dallas to back up Lamar Jackson in Baltimore, the Cowboys are suddenly in the market for a new quarterback. NFL insider Ian Rapoport thinks they won’t wait too long to draft one, either.

Giants Could Take a QB Just to Block Dallas

The ideal scenario? The Browns pick someone other than a QB at No. 2, leaving Shedeur Sanders available for the Giants at No. 3. If that doesn’t happen and both top QBs are gone, New York has two choices: gamble on Dart at No. 3 or trade down and grab him later while stockpiling draft picks.

Either way, with Dallas looking for a new quarterback, they’re not just thinking about a backup—they might be planning for a post-Dak Prescott future. Sure, they just gave Dak a big contract, but if we’ve learned anything from the NFL (see: Russell Wilson and the Broncos), that doesn’t mean much.

By taking a QB early, the Giants wouldn’t just secure their own future—they’d make life a little harder for their division rivals. Sounds like a win-win.
