The New York Giants hold a prime spot in the 2025 NFL Draft with the third overall pick, and for months, the buzz was all about them possibly taking Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. He seemed like a natural fit—maybe sitting behind Russell Wilson or Jameis Winston for a year before taking over.
But now? That hype is dying down fast.
The Silence is Telling
NFL insider Adam Schefter pointed out something interesting—there’s barely any talk about Sanders going in the top three anymore. The Giants aren’t the only ones cooling off on him; even other teams at the top of the draft seem to be shifting their focus elsewhere.
That’s not to say Sanders isn’t talented—he’s got great poise and accuracy. But even with all the media hype boosting his draft stock, it seems like front offices just aren’t sold on him as a top-three guy in a quarterback-heavy draft.
