Kevin Knox II Secures Roster Spot for the Rest of the Season
The Golden State Warriors have officially locked in forward Kevin Knox II for the remainder of the 2024-25 NBA season. After signing two consecutive 10-day contracts, Knox has now earned a full-time spot as the Warriors prepare for a deep playoff push.
Warriors Finalize Knox’s Signing
Golden State has been on a roll since acquiring six-time NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler, winning 16 of their last 19 games. Sitting in sixth place in the Western Conference with just 11 games left in the regular season, the Warriors are fine-tuning their roster for the postseason.
On March 21, the team officially announced Knox’s signing. “The Golden State Warriors have signed forward Kevin Knox II to a contract, it was announced today,” the statement read. “Knox II previously signed to a 10-day contract with the Warriors on February 19 and a second 10-day contract on March 1.”
Knox’s Journey to Golden State
A former ninth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Knox entered the league with high expectations after being selected by the New York Knicks. However, his career has been a winding road, with stops in Atlanta, Detroit, and Portland before landing in Golden State.
This season, Knox has played in seven games for the Warriors, averaging 4.0 points and 1.6 rebounds in just over seven minutes per contest. His efficiency has been decent, posting shooting splits of 45.8% from the field, 27.3% from three, and 75.0% from the free-throw line.
What Knox Brings to the Warriors
While Knox may not see significant minutes in the Warriors’ playoff rotation, his presence adds depth to the bench. His size, versatility, and experience provide Golden State with an emergency option if injuries arise.
As a former top-ten draft pick, Knox still possesses raw talent, and the Warriors’ development system could help him maximize his potential. For now, he has found a home for the rest of the season, and only time will tell if he can carve out a larger role in the future.
