Gophers Still Hunting for a Coach as Medved’s Tourney Run Ends in Heartbreaker

The Gophers’ hunt for a new men’s basketball coach is still on, and one of their top targets, Niko Medved, just had his NCAA tournament run cut short in heartbreaking fashion. 

Medved’s Colorado State squad nearly pulled off an upset against No. 4 seed Maryland in the second round on Sunday but lost 72-71 on a last-second buzzer-beater in Seattle. The Rams, a No. 12 seed, were on the verge of making history, but Maryland’s Derik Queen banked in the game-winner as time expired.
