Haason Reddick’s Reset: Bowles Believes He’s Ready to Wreck Offenses Again

Todd Bowles Thinks Haason Reddick Is Ready to Bounce Back in Tampa

After a weird 2024 season, the Bucs are betting on Haason Reddick to return to form   and head coach Todd Bowles sounds confident.

Reddick had a rough year last season. He got traded from the Eagles to the Jets, didn’t even play right away, asked for another trade, and ended the year with just one sack. But Bowles doesn’t think that tells the full story.

“I’d say last season was kind of a throwaway for him,” Bowles said. “We needed a pass rusher, and we know what he’s capable of. I’ve watched him for years, and Coach Foote knows him well too.”

From 2020 to 2023, Reddick had at least 10 sacks each season. That kind of production is exactly what Tampa needs to boost its pass rush   especially without having to send extra guys on blitzes.

“He can get after the quarterback,” Bowles added. “That’s what we need. We want to rush with just four guys more often so we can improve our coverage on the back end. Last year, we had to blitz a lot. This year, hopefully, we won’t have to.”

If Reddick can get back to the player he was in Philly, not the version we saw in New York, he could be a huge piece of the puzzle for Tampa Bay’s defense this season.
