“He Didn’t Even Know It Was a Penalty” — St. Brown Defends Jamo After Goalpost Incident

Detroit Lions fans got a clearer picture of Jameson Williams’ now-famous goalpost celebration, thanks to Amon-Ra St. Brown breaking it all down on the St. Brown Bros. podcast. And according to him, the moment was a lot less “showboating” and a lot more “heat of the moment.”

Amon-Ra revealed that Jamo had no clue the move was even a penalty. As soon as he got to the sideline, Williams reportedly said, “Damn bro, that’s on me,” clearly frustrated with himself. But Amon-Ra wasn’t having any guilt trips.
He told his younger teammate, “Nah, you’re good bro. It’s fine.”

Even Equanimeous St. Brown had questions when he saw it live.
“When I saw him do it, I’m like, ‘What the f**k is he doing? Do guys not know penalties in the NFL?’” he joked.

Amon-Ra explained that Jamo doesn’t plan celebrations ahead of time — he just reacts.
“He has no idea what he’s about to do when he scores. He just saw it and did it,” he said.

Since then, Williams has spoken with reporters and admitted he needs to be smarter going forward. But one thing is clear: Jamo is playing with energy, emotion, and confidence — and if these “little mistakes” come from balling out, Lions fans can live with that.

Detroit isn’t complaining.
They’re embracing it.
