Here We Go’ – Wolves Agree Deal to Sign Fer Lopez
Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed an agreement with Celta Vigo to sign Spanish midfielder Fer Lopez, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The Midlands club finished 16th in the Premier League after a strong second half of the season and are now focused on rebuilding under manager Vitor Pereira. With key players like Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha departing, Wolves are preparing for a busy summer transfer window — and Lopez is expected to be their first major signing.

Romano reports that Wolves have agreed a deal worth £21.3 million including add-ons for the 21-year-old midfielder. Personal terms were already agreed over the weekend, and Lopez was scheduled to undergo his medical at Molineux on Wednesday.
Despite having a €40 million release clause at Celta Vigo, Wolves managed to negotiate a significantly lower fee. The club is banking on Lopez’s potential, with many describing him as a “unicorn” for his unique attacking skillset.
Wolves reportedly worked closely with super-agent Jorge Mendes to secure the transfer, viewing Lopez as a potential long-term replacement for Matheus Cunha, who recently joined Manchester United.
Lopez had a breakthrough season in La Liga during the 2024/25 campaign, making 17 appearances — including seven starts — and scoring two goals.
In addition to Lopez, Wolves are looking to strengthen further. One of their next targets is OGC Nice striker Evann Guessand, with reports suggesting a £25 million offer has been made for the Ivorian forward.
