Jalen Milroe didn’t just wake up one day and become a star quarterback—his journey was built on years of discipline, hustle, and a little help from some very hungry horses.
Back in Sunnyside, Texas, young Milroe would visit his cousins on their farm. As a prank, they’d tie up their horses and then release them at feeding time—guess who had to chase them down? Milroe. That wild chase turned into early speed training. Fast forward a few years, and he’s running a blazing 4.37-second 40-yard dash at Alabama’s Pro Day.
But it wasn’t just the farm that helped him grow—it was family, too. His parents, both with military backgrounds, instilled discipline and work ethic in him. That mindset helped him push through the ups and downs of his college football journey.
“When I went to Alabama, it wasn’t about playing right away,” Milroe said. “It was about being the best version of myself, using everything I learned growing up. That stuff eventually shines through.”
Now, Milroe’s on the verge of being drafted into the NFL. As he waits with his family in Green Bay to hear his name called, he knows he wouldn’t be here without them.
“I’m grounded because of them,” he said. “They taught me what doing things the right way looks like. When I get drafted, you won’t just be seeing me—you’ll be seeing my whole family in that moment.”
Wherever he lands, Milroe’s confident he’ll be ready—not just because of his talent, but because of the foundation his family helped him build.
