Aidan Hutchinson Brushes Off Coaching Changes: ‘I Don’t Care Who They Bring In’
The Detroit Lions are heading into 2025 with major coaching changes, but star edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson isn’t worried. While fans and analysts debate whether losing offensive coordinator Ben Johnson (Bears) and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn (Jets) will slow Detroit’s momentum, Hutchinson made his stance crystal clear—coaches don’t win games, players do.
“I don’t care who they bring in to coach us,” Hutchinson said on The Lautners podcast. “Obviously, keeping Dan [Campbell] is what we all want, but coordinators, position coaches—it doesn’t matter. At the end of the day, it’s the playmakers who are making those plays on Sundays.”
That’s a strong take, especially considering how vital Johnson and Glenn were to Detroit’s rise from a struggling franchise to a 15-2 powerhouse. But Hutchinson believes the team’s foundation is solid, and as long as the core roster stays intact, the Lions will remain a contender.
Hutchinson is also working his way back from a serious leg injury that ended his season early. He’s hungry to return and confident that with a strong supporting cast—and possibly a pass-rushing addition like Myles Garrett—the Lions’ defense will be even better in 2025.
