‘Imma Get One’: Zack Baun’s Bold Prediction Before Super Bowl Interception

Zack Baun Predicted His Super Bowl Interception on Patrick Mahomes—Then Made It Happen

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun had a moment of pure confidence during Super Bowl LIX, and NFL microphones caught it all. Just before intercepting Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the second quarter, Baun was heard saying, “Imma get one.” Moments later, he backed up his words, picking off Mahomes and swinging momentum further in the Eagles’ favor.

At the time of the play, the Eagles were leading 17-0, and Mahomes was trying to mount a comeback. Instead, Baun’s interception set up another score, sending Philadelphia into halftime with a dominant 24-0 lead. The Chiefs never recovered, and the Eagles cruised to a Super Bowl victory.

After the game, Baun reflected on the play, saying he felt like he had “quarterback vision” that allowed him to read Mahomes perfectly. The interception capped off a dream season for the former Wisconsin Badger, who not only won his first Super Bowl but also made his first Pro Bowl.

Baun called it a “storybook ending” to his journey, having spent four years with the New Orleans Saints before joining the Eagles. “It’s crazy,” he said. “I don’t think I could have written a better story than this.”

With his instincts and playmaking ability on full display, Baun has cemented himself as a key piece of the Eagles’ defense—and possibly a future star in the league.
