Injured Penei Sewell Out, Taylor Decker Steps Up for Pro Bowl

Detroit Lions right tackle Penei Sewell will miss this year’s Pro Bowl due to injury, ending another stellar season on a disappointing note. Sewell reflected on the team’s playoff loss, saying, “If you’re not motivated as ever from this, then you’ve just got to look at the man in the mirror.”

In Sewell’s place, veteran left tackle Taylor Decker will make his first Pro Bowl appearance in Orlando, joining a strong group of Lions standouts. Safety Brian Branch, who had an incredible season with 103 tackles, four interceptions, and 15 passes defended, leads the team’s defensive Pro Bowl selections.

The Lions’ Pro Bowl roster also includes Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Frank Ragnow, and punter Jack Fox. Several alternates, like Kalif Raymond and Sam LaPorta, highlight the depth of Detroit’s talented roster after an impressive 2024 campaign.
