Injuries Bite Hard: Can the Browns’ Patchwork O-Line Hold the Fort?

The Cleveland Browns are rolling into Detroit with momentum, but they’re also carrying a major question mark: can their offensive line survive the Lions’ relentless pass rush?

Dawand Jones Done, Conklin Banged Up

The O-line has been hit hard. Dawand Jones is officially out for the season after undergoing surgery on a nasty hamstring avulsion, and Jack Conklin continues to battle injuries of his own. That leaves Cleveland leaning on KT Leveston and Cornelius Lucas to step up in starting roles. Let’s just say it’s not the situation the Browns hoped to be in by Week 4.

The Search for Help

Reports suggest the Browns are shopping for an experienced left tackle, looking to swing a trade that can provide some much-needed stability. It makes sense. Protecting Deshaun Watson and opening lanes for the run game are non-negotiables if this team is serious about stacking wins.

The Lions Won’t Make It Easy

Unfortunately, the Lions aren’t exactly the softest landing spot for a banged-up line. Detroit’s front seven is aggressive, physical, and hungry. If the Browns can’t keep the pocket from collapsing, it could be a long afternoon.

Next Man Up

Still, this is Cleveland. The “next man up” mantra runs deep, and the Dawgs have shown they can adjust on the fly. Whether it’s a splash trade or sheer grit from Leveston and Lucas, the Browns’ O-line will be a storyline to watch all day long.
