Injuries Tried to Break Us… Lions Just Answered With a HUGE Signing!🦁🔥

Detroit Lions Add Veteran CB Tre Flowers to Practice Squad

The Detroit Lions have made a strategic roster addition to strengthen their secondary after sustaining injuries. On Tuesday, they announced the signing of experienced cornerback Tre Flowers to the practice squad.

Seasoned Cornerback Brings Depth
Flowers brings extensive NFL experience to Detroit’s defense. Originally drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Flowers has appeared in 95 games with 44 starts. Across seven seasons, he has compiled 287 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 22 passes defended.

His career also includes stints with the Cincinnati Bengals, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Indianapolis Colts. His adaptability and experience are precisely what Detroit needs following recent setbacks in its secondary.

Campbell’s “Next Man Up” Approach
The signing comes a day after head coach Dan Campbell hinted at roster reinforcements. With D.J. Reed sidelined by a hamstring injury and Terrion Arnold doubtful, Detroit moved swiftly to bolster the cornerback position. Flowers offers the ability to adapt quickly and contribute if elevated from the practice squad.

Detroit also added linebacker Ty Summers, who impressed last preseason, bringing added depth to the defense’s interior.

Impact on the Secondary
While some hoped for a headline-grabbing signing, Flowers offers stability and experience that aligns with Campbell’s philosophy. Nearly 100 NFL games under his belt make him a dependable presence who could be called into action soon. Given Detroit’s injury challenges, Flowers could see game-day action sooner rather than later.
