Jalen Hurts Lands Spot on TIME100 List for 2025

Jalen Hurts just added another major achievement to his resume — he’s officially one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2025. The former Alabama star and current Eagles quarterback didn’t just win Super Bowl LIX, he dominated it, earning MVP honors and leading six other Bama alums to their first rings.

Some of those names? DeVonta Smith, Landon Dickerson, Tyler Steen, Cameron Latu, Byron Young, and Eli Ricks — all part of Philly’s title run.

Hurts is one of only six athletes on this year’s TIME100 list. Baseball legend Derek Jeter even wrote a piece about him, praising his ability to bounce back from setbacks — like being benched in the 2018 national championship — and how he used the 2023 Super Bowl loss as fuel to come back stronger.

Instead of letting past defeats define him, Jalen turned them into motivation. And according to Jeter, even after winning it all in 2025, Hurts is already focused on doing it again. No exhaling — just grinding.

Before becoming an NFL star, Hurts made his mark at Alabama with a 27-2 record as a starter, over 4,800 passing yards, 40 TDs through the air, and 21 on the ground. After losing the starting job to Tua Tagovailoa, he transferred to Oklahoma and nearly snagged a Heisman in 2019.
