Social Media Drags Jalen Milroe After Tough Senior Bowl Performance
Alabama QB Jalen Milroe had a rough time at the Senior Bowl, and social media didn’t hold back. His performance throughout the week was up and down, and by the time the game rolled around on Saturday, a lot of people were questioning his decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft early.
Milroe had a shaky start in practices, struggling on Tuesday and Wednesday before bouncing back with a better showing on Thursday. His deep-ball accuracy—one of his biggest strengths—was on display, but he continued to struggle with short and intermediate throws.
During the game, things didn’t get much better. Milroe completed just 3-of-5 passes for 18 yards, ran three times for 11 yards, and got sacked three times. His pocket presence was an issue, which was already a concern during his time as Alabama’s starter. He also missed a key throw over the middle and never really had the chance to show off his deep-passing ability.
Twitter Wasn’t Feeling It
Fans and analysts didn’t hold back their opinions online. Some took shots at his accuracy and decision-making, while others wondered if he should’ve stayed in college for another year instead of declaring for the draft.
One user even named him the “Gotta Play a Different Position (Dead Serious This Time)” player of the year. Another said he should’ve returned to Alabama instead of going pro so soon. Even the idea of the Browns drafting him was met with instant rejection from fans.
Of course, not everyone was negative. Former NFL QB Kurt Benkert had a different take, saying that Milroe still has a future in the league—if he lands in the right situation. Benkert believes Milroe could be a steal in the second to fourth round, but he needs time to develop and shouldn’t be expected to start right away.
What’s Next for Milroe?
Despite all the criticism, Milroe still has time to prove himself before the draft. The NFL Combine could give him a chance to improve his stock, but right now, there are serious doubts about whether he’s ready for the next level.
Even with the backlash, one thing is clear: Milroe gave everything he had to Alabama. He could’ve transferred for a big payday and waited another year, but he chose to stick with his dream of being an Alabama quarterback. Love him or hate him, that dedication deserves some respect.
