Jalen Milroe, former Alabama quarterback, is under the microscope at this year’s Senior Bowl, and his draft prospects are looking shaky. While some believe Milroe could be a top-five pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, others don’t see him as a starter at the next level.
Day one of the Senior Bowl revealed a big concern for Milroe: his hand size. Measuring in at 8 3/4 inches, his hands are smaller than most NFL quarterbacks. In fact, no current starting QB has hands under 9 inches, which could make teams hesitant to take him in the first round.
Though it’s not a death sentence for Milroe’s draft chances—remember, Pittsburgh’s Kenny Pickett, who also has small hands, was still drafted in the first round—it’s a red flag. The concern is that Milroe has struggled with ball control, losing six fumbles in 13 games this past season. With his mobility being a key asset, smaller hands and fumble issues don’t help his case.
It’s a tough start for Milroe, but it’s far from over—he’ll need to prove himself in the coming weeks.
