Ja’Marr Chase Gets Real on Joe Burrow’s Status for Lions Game — “Hell No, He’s Playing”

Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase isn’t having any of the talk about Joe Burrow sitting out against the Detroit Lions. When asked if he’d prefer to see the quarterback rest another week to heal up, Chase didn’t hesitate with his response.

“Hell no,” Chase said firmly. “That’s my quarterback. If he can play, he’s playing.”

Burrow’s health has been a major storyline all season, with lingering concerns about how fully he’s recovered from his calf injury. But Chase made it clear he wants his QB1 on the field when the Bengals face the red-hot Lions — no matter how tough Detroit’s defense has been lately.

“Joe’s a competitor,” Chase continued. “He’s been through worse. We trust him to make the right call, but if he’s out there, we’re riding with him.”

The Bengals’ offense has struggled to find its rhythm without Burrow at 100%, but the chemistry between Chase and his quarterback remains undeniable. Their connection is the heart of Cincinnati’s attack — and Chase clearly has no interest in seeing that disrupted, even against a fierce Lions defense.

While head coach Zac Taylor will ultimately make the decision, Chase’s loyalty to Burrow says everything about the brotherhood in the Bengals’ locker room.

“Joe’s a warrior,” Chase added. “If he says he’s good to go, then I believe him. We’re going to fight with him.”

As the Bengals gear up for their clash with Detroit, one thing’s certain: Ja’Marr Chase wants his quarterback in the huddle — no questions asked.
