The Detroit Lions just kicked off their Organized Team Activities (OTAs) in Allen Park, Michigan, and they’ve got their sights set on making it to Super Bowl LX in San Francisco. But things got off to a rough start this week when star center Frank Ragnow announced he’s retiring. Now the team will be leaning on younger players and rookies to hold down the offensive line.
As the Lions regroup, one of the guys they’re counting on to step up is wide receiver Jameson Williams. Head coach Dan Campbell says Williams has bulked up in the offseason, and the team’s hoping he’ll bring some serious fire to the passing game.
Then, out of nowhere on Wednesday, Jameson’s mom, Tianna Williams, shook things up with a surprise post on social media. She changed her profile picture to a shot of her son soaring through the air to catch a high pass during OTAs — and people went nuts over it.
The photo, backed by the Lions’ sponsor Henry Ford Health, showed off Williams’ insane leaping ability. One fan even said it should be the new logo for Jumpman Football. Others chimed in hyping up his potential this season. “He’s going to have an amazing season,” one Lions media page said. Another fan loved his new jersey number, saying, “#1 just feels right!”
With a new offensive coordinator, John Morton, calling plays this year, the Lions are planning to let Williams do more of what he does best — stretching the field and making big plays. After last year’s tough playoff loss to the Commanders, Detroit is counting on their passing game to level up big time in 2025.
