Jared Goff Dominates Pro Bowl Day 1, Wins Precision Passing

Lions Shine on Day 1 of the Pro Bowl: Goff Takes Precision Passing, Gibbs Cruises in Relay Race

Day 1 of the 2025 Pro Bowl saw several Detroit Lions players showcase their skills in a variety of fun and competitive events, with Jared Goff leading the way.

**Goff Wins Precision Passing Event**
Lions quarterback Jared Goff, paired with Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs, dominated the “Passing The Test” event. Jacobs answered all five trivia questions correctly, earning Goff an additional 50 seconds to hit as many targets as possible. Goff made the most of that time, scoring a total of 44 points, clinching the win in the precision passing competition. He outpaced Sam Darnold (39), Russell Wilson (31), and others, showcasing his pinpoint accuracy in front of the crowd.

**Ragnow Falls Short in Big-Man Spike**
Frank Ragnow participated in the big-man spike event, where offensive and defensive linemen took turns spiking a football into a target mechanism. Despite his best efforts, Ragnow’s score of 856 wasn’t enough to crack the top spot, finishing 4th out of six participants. Quinnen Williams (982) took the crown, followed by Dexter Lawrence (979) and Joel Bitonio (901).

**Gibbs Anchors Relay Race Win**
Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs helped the NFC squad win the four-man relay race. Although Gibbs was the anchor, the race was practically over before he had to make his leg, as the AFC fumbled the handoff in their final stretch. Nonetheless, Gibbs showed his quickness and agility, helping the NFC coast to victory.

**Branch Takes a Low Blow in Dodgeball**
In a surprising twist, safety Brian Branch swapped into the dodgeball competition but unfortunately took a painful hit to the “BBs” during a loss to the AFC. The NFC bounced back to win the second round, thanks in part to Taylor Decker’s elimination of Derwin James Jr., providing some redemption for the Lions.

**What’s Next for the Lions?**
The Pro Bowl festivities will continue on Sunday, February 2, with Lions players participating in various events. Jack Fox will compete in the “Perfect Punt” competition, Ragnow will take part in another relay, and Taylor Decker will face off in the Tug-of-War event. Several Lions, including Goff, will also compete in the flag football game to close out the Pro Bowl weekend. Tune in to ABC and ESPN from 3-6 p.m. ET to catch the action.

The Lions are making their presence felt in Las Vegas, with plenty more events to look forward to as they gear up for the flag football game on Sunday!
