While on broadcasting duty for FOX during a Lions game last season, Brady admitted he would’ve loved to play in Detroit’s explosive offense, calling it “so much fun.” But Jared Goff had a sharp—and funny—response when he heard about it.
In a sneak peek for Season 2 of Netflix’s Quarterback, which follows Goff, Kirk Cousins, and Joe Burrow, Goff grinned and delivered a simple six-word retort:
“Yeah, too bad, Tom. You’re retired.”
Mic drop.
It was classic Goff—cool, confident, and quick with the wit. While Brady’s comment came from a place of admiration, Goff reminded the seven-time Super Bowl champ that his playing days are over.
Season 2 of Quarterback hits Netflix on July 8 and promises a behind-the-scenes look at Goff’s journey, including moments like this one that show his sense of humor and leadership as the face of Detroit’s offense.
Brady might be retired, but it’s clear even he can’t help but admire what Goff and the Lions are building.
