Jared Goff just dropped a list that’s sure to light up NFL barbershop debates—and at the center of it is one glaring omission: Patrick Mahomes.
In the new season of Netflix’s Quarterback series, the Detroit Lions signal-caller was asked to name his top 10 quarterbacks of all time. Goff ran through a list full of legends—Brady, Peyton, Montana, Elway, Brees, Rivers, Eli, Big Ben, Favre, and Rodgers—but skipped right over Mahomes, the two-time MVP and three-time Super Bowl starter.
The move raised eyebrows across the NFL world. Mahomes, still just 29, is already considered by many as one of the greatest to ever play. But Goff made it clear he’s leaning on legacy, not current hype. The only active player on his list? Aaron Rodgers.
Goff didn’t mince words when talking about Tom Brady either, calling him “the greatest,” citing his unmatched seven Super Bowl titles. He also credited Joe Montana—his childhood idol—for inspiring his choice to wear No. 16.
While fans debate the list, Goff is also celebrating big changes off the field. He and his wife, Christen, just welcomed their first child, a daughter named Romy Isabelle Goff. The couple shared the news with a sweet black-and-white Instagram post earlier this week.
Between his bold quarterback rankings and growing family, Goff is stepping into the 2025 season with plenty of buzz—on and off the field.
