The Detroit Lions reached heights in 2024 that many fans and analysts never imagined. Under the leadership of head coach Dan Campbell and general manager Brad Holmes, the team stormed through the regular season with an impressive 15-2 record — the best in franchise history. It earned them their first-ever No. 1 seed in the NFC and set a new high mark for regular-season victories.
Offensively, the Lions were nothing short of dominant. They racked up 564 points — the fourth-highest total in NFL history — and finished the year with a +222 point differential. At the center of that success was quarterback Jared Goff, whose steady play helped fuel Detroit’s historic run.
While the team shifts into offseason mode and sets its sights on the 2025 campaign, Goff is celebrating a different kind of milestone off the field. On Tuesday, he and his wife, Christen Harper, joyfully welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Romy Isabelle Goff.
The couple shared their happiness on Instagram with a touching set of black-and-white photos showing baby Romy nestled in Christen’s arms. They simply captioned the post, “Romy Isabelle Goff.”
Love and well-wishes poured in from friends, teammates, and fans across the league. Lucy Ragnow, wife of former Lions center Frank Ragnow, wrote, “Perfection. Love you guys xoxoxo.”
“She’s here!!!! Welcome to the world Romy girl 🩷,” commented Malea Higbee, wife of Rams tight end Tyler Higbee.
Isabelle Sewell, wife of Lions offensive tackle Penei Sewell, chimed in with, “Romy girl!!! 😍,” while Sports Illustrated model Sharina Gutierrez added a cheerful, “Congratulations!!!”
Even the Lions’ official Instagram account joined the celebration, writing, “Congratulations!! 🩷🩷🩷.” Meanwhile, Lions safety Kerby Joseph captured the joy perfectly with a Jonah Hill reaction GIF from Get Him to the Greek.
Goff is coming off one of his best seasons yet since arriving in Detroit in 2021. He threw for 4,629 yards, 37 touchdowns, and just 12 interceptions, completing 72.4% of his passes and earning another Pro Bowl nod.
As training camp approaches, hopes remain sky-high in Detroit — both on and off the field.
