Jarin Stevenson Heads Back Home to North Carolina

After two seasons with Alabama basketball, forward Jarin Stevenson is hitting the reset button. The Chapel Hill native entered the transfer portal and announced he’s heading back home—to play for North Carolina.

Stevenson was actually a UNC legacy and nearly committed there straight out of high school, so this move feels full circle. Alabama head coach Nate Oats had pulled off a big recruiting win getting him to Tuscaloosa in the first place, but now Stevenson’s going back to where it all started.

While his time at Alabama had its ups and downs, fans won’t forget his breakout performance in the Elite Eight—he dropped 19 points and hit five threes to help the Tide knock out Clemson and reach their first-ever Final Four.
