John Harbaugh Issues Warning: Lions’ Offense and Aidan Hutchinson Are No Joke

As the Baltimore Ravens gear up for their Week 3 clash with the Detroit Lions, head coach John Harbaugh isn’t sugarcoating what his team is up against. Harbaugh has seen plenty of dangerous opponents in his long career, but when it comes to Detroit, he made it clear — the Lions are as complete and threatening as any team in football right now.

“They’ve got playmakers everywhere,” Harbaugh said, pointing to Jared Goff’s steady command of the offense and the weapons at his disposal — from Amon-Ra St. Brown’s precise route running to Jahmyr Gibbs’ electric speed out of the backfield. “You can’t just take away one guy, because they’ve got two or three more who can hurt you.”

And then there’s Aidan Hutchinson. The Lions’ star pass rusher is already shaping up as one of the league’s most disruptive defensive forces, and Harbaugh didn’t shy away from acknowledging the impact Hutchinson can have on a game. “He’s relentless,” Harbaugh said. “Every snap, he’s bringing it. You better account for him, because if you don’t, he’ll change the game by himself.”

The Ravens know they’ll need to be sharp on both sides of the ball if they want to avoid falling victim to a Lions squad that’s only growing in confidence. Harbaugh’s respect for Detroit reflects what much of the NFL is starting to realize — this isn’t the same old Lions. With an offense that can pile up points in a hurry and a defense headlined by Hutchinson’s dominance, Detroit is becoming a problem for everyone on their schedule.

For Baltimore, the message from their coach is clear: underestimate the Lions at your own risk.
