Justin Simmons Teases Philly Reunion: “I Know What I’m Getting with Vic”

Justin Simmons Might Be Eyeing Philly
With C.J. Gardner-Johnson headed to Houston, the Eagles could use help at safety   and Justin Simmons is open to stepping in. Simmons, who played under Vic Fangio in Denver, says he already knows the system and could fit right in. He mentioned how familiar he is with what Fangio and DBs coach Christian Parker like, saying he could help fill the gap left by CJGJ. Simmons said he’s looking for the best landing spot and wants to sign before training camp.

Penn State Safety Jaylen Reed Visiting Eagles
The Eagles are bringing in Penn State’s Jaylen Reed for a pre-draft visit. Reed was a key piece of the Nittany Lions’ defense, playing 50 games with 181 tackles, five picks, and some big plays. He’s another potential safety option as the Birds look to add depth.

Mock Draft Moves: Eagles Trade Up
In a new mock draft, the Eagles move up to the 24th pick to grab Georgia EDGE Mykel Williams. He’s big, fast, and versatile   lined up all over the place for Georgia’s D. He only had 14 sacks in three seasons but played hurt last year. Could be a sneaky good pick.

Tight End Situation Still in Flux
Dallas Goedert is still on the Roster   for now. But his future likely depends on how his contract fits into the cap. Behind him, the Eagles have a few solid backups, but no clear TE1 if Goedert moves on. This year’s draft class is deep at tight end, so Philly could take a swing at a prospect early or in the middle rounds.

     D-Line Help Needed
With Milton Williams now in New England, DT could be a target in Round 1. Jalen Carter leads the group, but Philly might want to add another big body. There are some strong DTs in this class, and the Eagles are expected to seriously consider the position with their top pick.

    A Day 3 Gem?
Ajani Cornelius from Oregon could be a Day 3 steal. He may move from tackle to guard, but his athleticism and ability to pull fit what the Eagles like in their run game. Philly had the most counter runs in the league last season, so a guy like Cornelius could thrive here.

  “Go Birds!” from Geno Auriemma
After UConn’s women’s hoops title win, coach Geno Auriemma gave a shoutout to the Eagles on Good Morning America, telling Michael Strahan, “Philly wins the Super Bowl, we won the title   it’s Philly time.”

NFL Might Tweak the Tush Push Rule
The league is still figuring out how to handle the “tush push.” Some want to ban downfield shoves but keep things like short-yardage pushes legal. It’s tricky because they don’t want it to seem like they’re targeting the Eagles, but… everyone knows they are.

    Draft Sleeper: TE Elijah Arroyo
Miami’s Elijah Arroyo could be a hidden gem in this year’s draft. He had a breakout year in 2024 and is a matchup nightmare  too big for DBs, too fast for LBs. Durability is a concern, but if he stays healthy, he could be a steal.

Cowboys Drafting Still Strong Thanks to Parsons
PFF ranks the Cowboys among the best drafting teams in Round 1, mostly thanks to Micah Parsons. Even with some recent misses, they’ve hit on a few stars. With the 12th pick this year, they’re in a good spot to land another impact player.

    Giants Doing Homework on QBs
QB Shedeur Sanders is getting a long look from the Giants. Analyst Matt Waldman thinks Sanders may not have the highest ceiling but might be the most dependable of the top QB prospects.

Walter Nolen: Big Talent, Some Baggage
DT Walter Nolen has all the tools  great size, strength, and pass-rush flashes   but scouts are split. Some worry about his maturity after a few questionable practice habits. Others think he’s just young and needs the right team to guide him.

    Shemar Stewart: Freak Athlete, But…
EDGE Shemar Stewart tested off the charts at the Combine but didn’t produce much at Texas A&M. Scouts love the traits but are concerned he lacks a plan as a pass rusher. If he develops one, though, watch out.
