A bold claim made waves just before the NFL Draft: an anonymous AFC coordinator told NFL Network that all of Alabama’s skill players would’ve transferred if quarterback Jalen Milroe had returned for another season.
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer isn’t buying it.
Speaking on Seattle’s KJR radio, DeBoer questioned the claim’s legitimacy. “The word ‘all’ was used,” he said. “Whenever absolutes like ‘all,’ ‘never,’ or ‘always’ are thrown around, I tend to question it. I don’t think we would’ve lost all our receivers no matter what.”
Still, DeBoer acknowledged Alabama has had some turnover. “We had six receivers transfer just from this past team. There are reasons for that. But I don’t think it was all tied to Jalen.”
DeBoer also had praise for Milroe, calling him a hard worker and someone who brings people together.
Milroe had an up-and-down final season but was drafted in the third round by the Seattle Seahawks.
