Kayvon Thibodeaux on the Trade Block? The Buzz is Growing

Pro Football Focus (PFF) has thrown out an interesting trade idea—what if the New York Giants sent edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux to the Detroit Lions?

The Lions are looking to beef up their pass rush, especially since they’ve struggled to generate pressure without Aidan Hutchinson. Instead of banking on a rookie from the draft, PFF suggests Detroit could go after Thibodeaux, who was picked just three spots after Hutchinson in 2022. While Thibodeaux has shown flashes of dominance, he’s only posted one season with a PFF pass-rush grade above 70.0.

For the Giants, the big decision is coming soon—do they pick up his fifth-year option or move on? If they don’t see him as a long-term piece, trading him now might be the best way to maximize his value. Meanwhile, the Lions have both the cap space and roster structure to extend him if they believe he can thrive in their system.

That said, there’s no real indication that the Giants are shopping Thibodeaux. This is just speculation from analysts outside the organization. But it does raise an interesting question—would a change of scenery unlock his full potential?

What do you think, Giants fans? Would you trade Thibodeaux for the right price?
