Kindle Vildor’s Tenure with Lions Ends After 49ers Gaffe

Kindle Vildor, a cornerback, has departed from the Detroit Lions. Vildor had a notable stint with the Lions, playing 17 games in the 2024 season, with two starts, and recording 16 tackles and three pass defenses. He also played a crucial role on special teams.

Vildor’s journey with the Lions began in 2023 when he joined the team’s practice squad and eventually earned a spot on the active roster. He became a reliable depth player, even starting three playoff games for the Lions.

In 2024, Vildor re-signed with the Lions on a one-year contract. Despite being an unrestricted free agent entering the 2025 offseason, Vildor’s departure from the Lions marks the end of his tenure with the team.

Vildor had a memorable, albeit costly, moment in the NFC Championship Game against the 49ers, where a pass bounced off his facemask and was caught by a 49ers receiver for a big play.
