TNew Los Angeles Lakers center Christian Koloko is set for a healthy season after overcoming a career-threatening blood clot issue. In a recent conversation with TMZ, Koloko shared his optimism about the upcoming season, expressing excitement for his return to the court.

“I feel amazing,” Koloko said. “My doctors gave me the green light, but now we’re just waiting on the NBA. We’re pretty optimistic. Hopefully, everything goes well.”

When asked about his message for Lakers fans, Koloko kept it simple, showing his competitive spirit: “I’m just gonna come in ready. Be ready to do whatever it takes to have the team win, and that’s the goal — win.”

Koloko, drafted 33rd overall by the Toronto Raptors in 2022, appeared in 58 games last season, averaging 3.1 points and 2.9 rebounds. He also spent time in the G-League but was waived by the Raptors in January as part of the Pascal Siakam trade due to his health issues. Despite interest from multiple teams, Koloko had to be cleared by the NBA’s Fitness-to-Play Panel because of the blood clot.

Shams Charania reported that several teams reached out to Koloko’s camp after he was waived, but the blood clot issue was a significant factor. Now fully cleared, Koloko aims to bring added depth to the Lakers’ frontcourt, joining stars like Anthony Davis, Christian Wood, and Jaxson Hayes.
