Amon-Ra St. Brown Says Sam LaPorta Is Set for a Huge 2025
Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is pretty hyped about what he’s been seeing from tight end Sam LaPorta during offseason workouts.
Speaking after the team’s last OTA session, St. Brown didn’t hold back when talking about LaPorta’s potential:
“A guy that I’m excited for is Sam LaPorta. Not taking anything away from what he did last year—he’s a baller—but I can tell this year, he’s making plays out there every day. He’s gonna have a big year.”
LaPorta had a solid rookie season but didn’t quite blow up in Year 2 the way some people expected. Still, he’s been turning heads this offseason, and St. Brown clearly thinks he’s about to go off in 2025.
LaPorta himself addressed the idea that he had a “down year,” pointing out that the Lions’ offense still put up near-record numbers, and there were just a lot of weapons to spread the ball around.
As for team goals, St. Brown didn’t mince words. He made it clear the Lions are aiming for the top:
“At this point, we want to win a Super Bowl. That’s it. Obviously, we’ve got to make the playoffs first, but that’s understood. We want to win the Super Bowl. Plain and simple.”
