“Like a Glass of Wine”: Kelly Stafford Opens Up About Using Gummies for Parenting

Kelly Stafford isn’t shy about speaking her truth—and in the latest episode of her podcast The Morning After, she opened up about one of her go-to parenting tools: weed gummies.

Yes, really.

The wife of former Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford got candid about how cannabis edibles help her handle the daily chaos of raising four young daughters. “Gummies are great,” she said. “Sometimes I feel like gummies make me a better parent. They calm me down. It’s like a glass of wine.”

Stafford said she initially felt a little guilty for relying on weed to decompress, but she’s learning to let that go. “It’s not like I do it every night,” she said. “But sometimes I’m like, ‘It’s been a long day, I don’t want to rip my hair out—or theirs—so I’m going to top it off with a little gummy.’”

Guest Kit Hoover backed her up, calling the gummies a glass of “patience,” and honestly? That might resonate with more parents than anyone wants to admit.

Kelly and Matthew have been married since 2015, and after years of ups and downs in Detroit, Stafford won a Super Bowl with the Rams in his first season post-trade. But back home, Kelly’s just another mom trying to keep her cool while running a busy household. If a gummy helps, who’s judging?
