“Lions’ Alex Anzalone Set to Rejoin Team vs. Vikings Post-Injury”

Lions Prepare for NFC North Showdown as Key Players Return to Practice

As the Detroit Lions gear up for their high-stakes NFC North title clash against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night, some key names are making progress in their recoveries.

Linebacker Alex Anzalone, who has been out since November 17 with a broken left forearm, participated in Wednesday’s walkthrough practice. “He’ll be out there running around,” said head coach Dan Campbell. “Thursday will be a big day for us to see where he’s at.” Anzalone has recorded 56 tackles this season, placing fourth on the team despite missing time, after leading the Lions in tackles for the past two seasons.

The Lions (14-2) and Vikings (14-2) are tied atop the division standings, and Sunday’s matchup will determine more than just bragging rights. The winner will claim the NFC North crown, secure home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, and earn a first-round bye, while the loser will drop to the NFC’s No. 5 seed and start the playoffs on the road.

Injury Updates

The Lions also limited other key players in practice:

Jack Campbell (rib)

Amik Robertson (calf)

Kalif Raymond (foot), who has been sidelined since November 24, was cleared to practice.

Raymond’s return could provide a boost on special teams and offense. Earlier this season, he showcased his dual-threat capability with a 90-yard punt return touchdown and a receiving touchdown in the same game against Tennessee.

Meanwhile, the Lions kept David Montgomery (knee) and Emmanuel Moseley (illness) out of Wednesday’s practice. Montgomery’s return is expected in time for the playoffs.

With the stakes higher than ever, Detroit is rallying its roster for a pivotal showdown that could define th

eir season.
