A Proven Run-Stuffer with Pass-Rush Upside

Lopez, 27, was originally a sixth-round pick out of Arizona in 2021. He spent the first two seasons of his career with the Houston Texans before joining the Cardinals. Last season, he started 16 games, primarily at nose tackle, and made a noticeable impact on the field. His 2024 stats include:

Detroit faced serious injury concerns on the defensive line last season, with Alim McNeill and Mekhi Wingo suffering ACL injuries. Although both are expected to return, their availability for offseason programs remains uncertain. Adding a durable, starting-caliber nose tackle like Lopez provides much-needed security in the middle.
