The Detroit Lions are feeling confident about their defensive line heading into the 2025 season, but that doesn’t mean they’re done making moves. Head coach Dan Campbell and GM Brad Holmes both expressed excitement over the talent they’ve assembled so far, with Aidan Hutchinson set to return from injury and Alim McNeill expected back sometime in September or October.
Detroit has also retained key pieces like Marcus Davenport and Levi Onwuzurike while adding Roy Lopez in free agency. Campbell emphasized that the team still has room to strengthen the unit, potentially in the draft or even later in the offseason. With this year’s defensive line class being one of the deepest in over a decade, the Lions have plenty of options to add more firepower up front. Given their struggles in pass-rush win rate last season, any additional depth could be crucial in turning a solid defensive front into a dominant one.
