Lions Could Land Versatile Georgia Defender Who Brings Pass Rush & More

The Detroit Lions could be in the market for a versatile defensive playmaker, and Georgia’s Jalon Walker might be an ideal fit. With Derrick Barnes’ future uncertain as he heads into free agency, the Lions may need a dynamic SAM linebacker who can rush the passer, drop into coverage, and disrupt plays all over the field.

Walker showcased his versatility at Georgia, lining up on the defensive line, as an edge rusher, in the box, and even taking snaps at slot corner. Some scouts see him as a pass rusher, others as a linebacker—but either way, he’s a game-changer. With 60 tackles, 11 for loss, and 6.5 sacks last season, his production backs up the hype. Ranked as high as No. 9 overall by NFL Network, Walker may not be available at Pick 28, but if he slips, the Lions could have a shot at landing an elite defensive weapon.
