A Rough Patch… But Nothing to Panic About
Sure, the Detroit Lions have stumbled lately. Dropping three of their last five and slipping out of the playoff picture isn’t exactly the vibe fans were hoping for. If the postseason started today, Detroit would be watching from home. Not fun.
But before anyone spirals, let’s just inhale… exhale… and relax a little.
Because somehow, even with all the bumps, the Lions are still sitting pretty — or at least prettier than a certain “division-leading” rival.
The Playoff Odds That Made Every Lions Fan Chuckle
When the latest NFC playoff odds dropped courtesy of the league, Lions fans got a good laugh.
Detroit: 74%
Chicago Bears (first place, mind you): 58%
Yes. You read that correctly.
These are the same Bears we haven’t stopped hearing about since Detroit’s loss to the Eagles — the same Bears people are treating like NFC North royalty. And yet, when you strip away the noise, the Lions are in a far better position than the team on top.
Now, that’s comedy.
Why the Bears Should Be Sweating, Not Celebrating
Let’s talk schedules, because this is where things get spicy.
Chicago still has to face:
- Green Bay (twice)
- The Eagles
- The 49ers
- The Lions (again)
Oh, and possibly Aaron Rodgers — the man who’s made a career out of tormenting Chicago — may be waiting for them this Sunday. Lovely.
And if you’ve forgotten what happened last time Ben Johnson faced his former team, let me remind you in two words:
52 points.
Detroit’s Road? Much Kinder. Much Kinder.
The Lions’ remaining slate includes:
- New York Giants (very winnable)
- Dallas Cowboys (could be a win)
- Pittsburgh Steelers (should be a win)
- Vikings (winnable)
- Rams & Packers (tough but doable)
Nothing is guaranteed, but compared to what Chicago has to battle through, the Lions’ path looks like a soft-turf runway.
Bottom Line: Detroit Has the Bears Exactly Where They Want Them
The numbers say it. The schedule says it. The league says it.
Detroit may have dipped, but the Lions still have the Bears “right where they want them.” No need for panic. No need for chaos.
Just patience — and maybe a little smirk.
