Lions-Eagles Trade Idea: NFL Writer Links Detroit to Top Pass-Rusher

Should the Lions Trade for Eagles Pass-Rusher Bryce Huff?

The Detroit Lions have made moves to strengthen their secondary this offseason, but questions remain about their edge rush depth behind Aidan Hutchinson. One recent suggestion? Trading for Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Bryce Huff.

A Bleacher Report article proposed a trade sending a 2025 fourth-round pick and a 2025 seventh-rounder to the Eagles in exchange for Huff, who struggled in his first season with Philadelphia. After signing a three-year, $51.1 million contract last offseason, Huff managed just 2.5 sacks in 11 games after posting 10 sacks with the Jets in 2023.

With Za’Darius Smith still unsigned and Josh Paschal yet to make a major impact, Huff could provide much-needed help opposite Hutchinson. However, his contract and recent injury concerns make this a risky move. Would Detroit be better off using draft capital on a younger, cheaper pass-rusher instead?
