Harrison Twp. Snow Sculptor Celebrates Lions Star Amon-Ra St. Brown in Style
HARRISON TWP., MI – Metro Detroit resident Jamison Agnello has taken snowman building to the next level. Instead of crafting a traditional snowman, he sculpted a life-size replica of Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown. The 7-foot-tall masterpiece captures St. Brown’s iconic upside-down touchdown celebration from the Lions’ November 3rd, 2024 victory against the Packers.
Agnello, a real estate agent by trade, channels his passion for snow art whenever the conditions are just right. This latest creation, completed on January 11 with help from his wife and three children, has already drawn attention from neighbors and fans alike.
Crafting the Sculpture
Despite limited snowfall and less-than-ideal conditions, Agnello improvised to make the sculpture possible. Using heated snow from his garage to ensure proper packing, he and his family overcame the challenges posed by sunshine and temperatures hovering around 30°F.
“The snow wasn’t great, but the sunshine helped warm it enough to pack. It’s always a family effort, and we love doing it together,” Agnello told MLive.
Lions’ Inspiration
Though not a diehard sports fan, Agnello found inspiration in the Lions’ recent success under head coach Dan Campbell. “Watching Dan Campbell motivate the team to exceed expectations is infectious. It felt fitting to honor Amon-Ra St. Brown after such a great season,” he shared.
A Local Attraction
The sculpture has quickly become a local sensation. While Agnello prefers to keep his exact address private, fans have traveled to see the snow version of St. Brown, with some even posing upside-down for photos.
Previously known for creating Disney characters and animal sculptures, Agnello admitted this was his first sports-themed snow project. “It’s amazing to see how much joy it brings, not just to the neighbors but to everyone stopping by,” he said.
Building Community Through Art
Agnello’s snow art has become a tradition, reflecting his creativity and dedication to bringing people together. This tribute to St. Brown is another reminder of the unique ways sports can inspire community pride and celebration.
Fans of both the Lions and inventive snow art will be keeping an eye on Agnello’s future creations—especially if the Lions continue their winning ways.
