Lions Let Three RFAs Hit Free Agency, But One May Return
The Detroit Lions have decided not to tender contracts to restricted free agents Shane Zylstra, Anthony Pittman, and Kayode Awosika, making them unrestricted free agents. However, Pittman could still return, as he’s reportedly close to a new deal with Detroit.
Pittman has been a key contributor on special teams, an area where the Lions have consistently thrived. Bringing him back would help maintain that strength. Meanwhile, Zylstra and Awosika are free to sign elsewhere, though Detroit could explore other options at tight end and along the offensive line.
These moves give the Lions more cap flexibility as they continue shaping their roster for the upcoming season.
