It hasn’t taken long for rookie cornerback Terrion Arnold to turn heads in Detroit. Just weeks into offseason work, the first-round pick is already making a strong impression—not just on the coaching staff, but on some of the Lions’ most respected veterans.
Arnold, the No. 24 overall pick out of Alabama, came into the league with a reputation for being smart, physical, and passionate about the game. So far, he’s living up to all of it. According to several Lions players, Arnold has quickly shown he belongs.
Veteran safety and team leader Kerby Joseph had high praise for Arnold this week, noting that the rookie has been asking questions, playing with intensity, and picking things up fast. “He’s a dog,” Joseph said. “You can tell he wants it.”
That attitude is exactly what Dan Campbell and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn love. The Lions have big plans for Arnold, especially after adding him to a young secondary that’s hungry to take a big leap in 2025.
Even Cam Sutton—who’s back with the team and knows a thing or two about playing in this league—took notice. “The kid’s got instincts and confidence,” Sutton said. “You don’t always see that this early.”
Detroit fans should be excited. It’s one thing for a rookie to flash potential, but when established pros are calling you out in a good way before your first NFL game, that says something. If Arnold keeps this up, don’t be surprised if he’s starting—and making plays—when Week One rolls around.
