Lions Get Key Starter Back, But Four Players Remain Questionable for Week 9

The Detroit Lions got some much-needed good news on the injury front as one of their starting cornerbacks has been cleared to return just in time for their Week 9 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. However, the team isn’t completely in the clear — four other players remain questionable heading into Sunday’s divisional showdown.

Terrion Arnold, the rookie cornerback who missed time with a minor lower-body issue, is officially back and expected to start. His return is a huge boost for a Lions defense that’s preparing to face J.J. McCarthy and the Vikings’ dangerous receiving corps led by Justin Jefferson.

But Detroit’s depth is still being tested. The team listed Kerby Joseph, Josh Reynolds, Alim McNeill, and Kalif Raymond as questionable — all of whom play important roles on both sides of the ball. Head coach Dan Campbell said the staff will evaluate each player closely leading up to game day.

For the Lions, getting Arnold back couldn’t come at a better time. The rookie has shown poise, physicality, and excellent ball instincts early in his career, quickly earning trust in a defense that thrives on discipline and aggression. His presence will help Detroit maintain its defensive balance against a Vikings offense looking to make a statement.

If a few of those questionable players can suit up as well, the Lions could be near full strength heading into one of their most important NFC North matchups of the season.

As Campbell put it earlier this week, “We’re getting healthier — and when we’re healthy, we’re dangerous.”
