Lions GM Delivers Disappointing News on Myles Garrett Trade Speculation

Lions GM Addresses Myles Garrett Trade Rumors: Not Part of the Plan
Detroit Lions General Manager Brad Holmes has responded to rumors linking the team to Myles Garrett, the standout pass rusher for the Cleveland Browns. While Garrett, who recently requested permission to seek a trade, is expected to garner significant interest, Holmes made it clear that acquiring the NFL Defensive Player of the Year isn’t part of the Lions’ immediate plans.

Holmes acknowledged the need for an edge rusher to complement Aidan Hutchinson, but he emphasized that it would be difficult to pull off a trade for a star like Garrett. With the high cost of acquiring a player of his caliber, Holmes hinted that the Lions are more focused on continuing to build depth rather than making a single blockbuster move.

“We’re not just looking for one high-end rusher,” Holmes said. “We have a high-end rusher now, do we want to have another one? Yes, we’d like to have three or four high-end rushers. That’s just not always the reality of what you’re able to do.”

Garrett’s potential move has been a hot topic, but it seems that the Lions are playing it smart, sticking to their strategy of sustained roster development rather than chasing a high-cost, high-profile player.
