The Detroit Lions have signed interior defensive lineman Roy Lopez to a one-year deal worth up to $4.25 million.
Lopez, 27, was a sixth-round pick out of Arizona in the 2021 draft. He has played for the Houston Texans and Arizona Cardinals, starting 50 games across four seasons.
Last season, Lopez started 16 games, playing mostly at nose tackle. He recorded 28 tackles, forced and recovered one fumble, knocked away three passes, and hit the quarterback three times.
The signing adds experience and depth to the Lions’ defensive line, which lost Alim McNeill and Mekhi Wingo to ACL injuries last season.
