A Hometown Voice for the Big Stage
Detroit fans will be treated to a special hometown moment tonight as Caleb Carroll, a national recording artist and proud Southfield native, steps onto the field to perform the national anthem ahead of the Monday Night Football clash between the Detroit Lions and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Ford Field. Kickoff is set for shortly after 7 p.m., but the crowd’s excitement will start building well before that — the moment Carroll’s first notes echo through the stadium.
Carroll, a graduate of Birmingham Groves High School, first sang the “Star-Spangled Banner” at just 12 years old during an Oakland University basketball game. More than a decade later, his name has become synonymous with stirring anthem performances across Detroit’s sports scene.
From Local Talent to Stadium Regular
Over the years, Carroll’s journey has taken him from small stages to the city’s biggest venues. Earlier this year, he delivered a memorable performance during the Lions-Commanders playoff game, a moment that cemented his place as a fan favorite. His voice has also resonated at Tigers and Pistons games, including Game 3 of the ALDS last season, and even during the NFL Draft in Detroit — events that have showcased both his vocal strength and emotional depth.
The gospel recording artist’s music career continues to climb. His debut EP, “The Word,” released in 2022, introduced audiences to his soul-infused sound, while his latest single, “ATN,” demonstrates the maturity and message-driven passion behind his artistry.
A Night of Music, Football, and Detroit Energy
The entertainment won’t stop with Carroll’s anthem. The pre-game atmosphere will be electrified by DJ Kevin Saunderson, one of the pioneers of Detroit techno, spinning tracks that celebrate the city’s musical roots. At halftime, the University of Michigan Marching Band will take center stage, keeping the energy high and the Detroit pride alive.

On the gridiron, the Lions enter the night at 4–2, looking to regain momentum against a 5–1 Buccaneers team.
